Coffee Price Rise April 2025
Since our last announcement, we have seen continued volatility in raw coffee prices, with further steady gains of just under 20%. During February we had day after day of record high levels, and although prices have largely plateaued since then, we are now facing a situation where most of the core coffees used across our blends have now increased by more than 120% in a year, with Brazilian coffees (a key component in most blends) increasing by over 135%. The graph below details the rise in the New York C Futures Market (indicating arabica coffee prices) over the past 12 months and is accurate as of the 4th of March 2025.
These increases clearly cannot be absorbed in their entirety and, although we are very well aware of the price pressures facing the hospitality industry at this difficult time, we have absolutely no choice but to raise prices again.
Consequently, all coffee blends will increase in price on the 7th of April 2025.
Please do understand that we do not take this decision lightly or your custom for granted, but these price levels present an existential threat to the coffee industry if they are not acted upon. This market is unprecedented, and the volatility shows no sign of abating – the whole industry has no idea how high the market might rise and for how long, and so there may well be further price rises ahead.
We are, of course, continuing to monitor the situation very closely and will react swiftly to any substantial reduction in raw coffee prices and bring our prices down accordingly.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
The Drury Tea & Coffee Company Ltd
